A kétrészes írás fő témája a közelmúltban a Kis-Kaukázusban lezajlott katonai konfliktus az Örményország által támogatott Hegyi-Karabah Köztársaság és Azerbajdzsán között. A háború sok eseménye tanulsággal szolgál számunkra, hiszen a konvencionális módon hadat viselő felek – főleg Azerbajdzsán – új harceljárásokat és eszközöket alkalmaztak a konfliktus során. A tanulmányban a szerző ismerteti a háború előzményeit, az örmény és az azeri felkészülést, a konfliktusban alkalmazott harceljárásokat, különös tekintettel a pilóta nélküli repülőgépek (UAV1) alkalmazására a konvencionális háborúban, valamint kitér az Oroszországi Föderáció beavatkozására és a békefenntartásba való
átmenetre. Ez volt az egyik első olyan háború a hadtörténelemben, ahol a szemben álló felek – nyílt hadviselés során – a siker elérése érdekében széleskörűen alkalmaztak összhaderőnemi szinten pilóta nélküli repülőeszközöket. A szerző elsőként dolgozta fel a két reguláris hadsereggel rendelkező fél közötti konfliktust. Megállapításai hasznosak lehetnek a jövőre nézve.
