Absztrakt

This article conceptualizes hybrid warfare as a specific style of warfare, strategic in nature and in contrast to “military-centric warfare” as its counterpart. The article builds on previous research and publications by the author and presents results in a condensed way. It suggests the following comprehensive definition of hybrid warfare: “Hybrid warfare is a specific and unorthodox style of warfare. It extends the battlespace horizontally by involving multiple domains, operates in the shadow of various interfaces thus creating ambiguity, and creatively combines the use of force with different soft-, hard- and smart-power means and methods. It tries to reach a decision primarily on non-military centres of gravity”.
