Abstract

One of the greatest technical challenges of our days is the replacement and supplementation of conventional, fossile energy sources, which are availabale in decreasing quantities. Although, to date in aviation there has not been a long-term, reassuring solution to this, by the 50’s of our century it will be inevitable the third dimension to get involved – using exclusively carbon-free methods - in traffic of the metropolises, which will take in two thirds of the population of our overpopulated Earth at the time. At present for that purpose, only aerial vehicles with electric propulsion can be considered, whose development is already under way, which is supported by the USAF as well.
