The Defence Innovation Research Institute (VIKI), to be established in 2023, will aim to link the existing national and international innovation ecosystem - universities, research institutes, laboratories, small and medium-sized enterprises - and the Ministry of Defence, in order to best deliver dual-purpose research that can be used for defence purposes. One of VIKI’s main international cooperation partners is NATO’s DIANA, which aims to develop deep tech startups and companies in order to facilitate a dual-use
technology development throughout the Alliance.
