Az orosz–ukrán háború bebizonyította, hogy a modern hadviselés egyik meghatározó eleme a drónokkal vívott légi háború. A Bayraktarral elért kezdeti sikerek után, Oroszország egy olcsó, iráni eredetű drónrendszerrel mért csapásokat az ukrán hátországra. Tekintettel a téma sajátosságaira, valamint a tudományos publikációk hiányára, a szerző tanulmányában a nyílt forrású információszerzés (Open Source Intelligence – OSINT) módszereihez fordult. Az elektronikus sajtóban megjelent cikkek és képek alapján elemzi az adatokat, majd bemutatja és összehasonlítja a típusokat.
