Abstract

During the period following the change of regime, the application of the traditional round canopy shaped parachute basic training method was typical in both the civilian (sport) and military parachuting in our Homeland. The RS-4/4 model, which has been used in civilian parachuting life for several decades, ’disappeared’ in the early 2000s. Decendant was not arrived, while - with paralelly the continued expansion of ram-air parachute techniques, - ram-air basic training became more widespread. In the Hungarian Defence Forces (hereinafter: HDF) the RS-4/4 parachute was also the basic tool of the basic parachute training for several decades, until the summer of 2018, when the ’LA’ version of the type retired at the end of its calendar life. Since that the American made MC-6 type has been the „conventional shaped” parachute of the HDF, which has been supported the fulfill of the training and operational parachute jumps since 2014.
