Abstract

The mass appearance of mine resistant ambush protected vehicles on the modern battlefields took part a few years before the millennium. These are specially designed vehicles, classified in one subcategory of combat vehicles that have been used with success to significantly reduce battlefield losses previously caused by improvised explosive devices in conventionally designed combat vehicles. The Hungarian Defence Forces also have had this type of vehicles, but with the appearance of GIDRÁN, this category of combat vehicles will also be represented in a larger number on the HDF’s equipment range.
