Abstract

With the appearance of tanks and armored vehicles on the battlefield, it became necessary to develop suitable rescue and towing
devices in case they get stuck, break down, or are damaged in combat. Their rescue task in battlefield conditions is to tow equipment that has become incapacitated to a collection point for damaged equipment. Later on, the tasks of the tank tugs were expanded beyond the tasks of rescue, towing, evacuation, on-site repairs, assistance and the possibility of lifting heavy loads. In his series of articles, the author presents the arc of development from the world’s first technical rescue vehicle to the most modern devices.
