Abstract

Given the expected increase in the frequency and intensity of vegetation fires, an important objective is to ensure the continued airborne firefighting capability of our country, which is currently provided by the Mi-17 helicopters of the Hungarian Defence Forces. As the Mi-17s will reach the end of their service life in a few years, an important task will be to assess the firefighting capability of the Airbus H145M and H225M helicopters, as well as the Embraer KC-390 Millennium aircraft, which were purchased under the Defence and Military Development Program.
