The study reviews the transformation of Serbia’s armed forces from the period following the Yugoslav War to the present day. The Serbian army has been dependent on Soviet and then Russian military equipment since Yugoslavian times. With their new strategy, they are trying to expand their international scope. They bought surface-to-air missiles from China and fighter jets from NATO member states. Their goal is to strengthen the country’s foreign policy positions in as many directions as possible. The results of the Serbian Defence and Military Development Program were presented at the Stit22 event held at the Batajnica Air Base. As part of the
military technology demonstration and air day, the general public can see the armament and equipment of the air and ground forces.
