Abstract

Blériot’s flight demonstration in October 1909 in Budapest launched a number of talented craftsmen to join the group of Hungarian aircraft designer and aviators. Aladár Zsélyi was one of the few exceptions who became an aviator as a mechanical engineer. He performed and documented his experiments based on his calculations. Far beyond his age, based on his construction design he became a world leader in the avianautical science soon. He was not only a successful aircraft designer, but also a talented pilot,
who founded the Hungarian aviation literature in his writings In this short study, the author of this article pays tribute to the eminent person of the heroic age of Hungarian aviation.
