In 1992 Lieutenant Colonel Gábor Sári PhDgraduated with honours from the ‘Bólyai János’ Military Technical College, majoring in military business management as a 1st lieutenant. During his college years he tasted also the world of scientific research: with his essay he won the second prize at the institution’s Scientific Students’ Association’s (TDK) competition.
In 1997 he was assigned to the HDF 2nd Aviation and Air Defence Corps Headquarters Training Directorate, in Veszprém, during this time he started to write studies, analyses in the then Honvédségi Szemle, mainly in the topic of training.
From 1999-2002 he was taking a correspondence course on Military Organisation and Augmentation at the Zrínyi Miklós University of National Defence, from where he graduated with high distinction. With his competition essay submitted during his studies to the Scientific Students Association (TDK), he won the first prize of the department, and the special prize of the conference.
With the establishment of the HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC) in 2007, he was transferred to Székesfehérvár, where he became the member of the Command’s Scientific Council and the editorial board of the military journal Seregszemle. His researches primarily focussed on the logistics specialist training.
In 2010 he was posted to Afghanistan; he pursued the scientific research work also in this period. After the mission he was admitted to the Doctoral School of Military Sciences of the Zrínyi Miklós University of National Defence, where with his thesis he obtained the PhD degree in 2015.
In 2016 at the HDF JFC’s scientific essay competition, he won a special prize.
In addition to scientific research he actively participated in the university education, contributing to the practical training of the students, with writing lecture notes and giving lessons as an external lecturer. As a result of this, in 2018 he was declared an honorary associate professor by the National University of Public Service (NUPS).
