László Király Csc

László Király(CSc) fulfilled his military service from 1965-1966 as a radar technician, in staff sergeant rank, in 1973 as a reserve 2nd lieutenant platoon leader.

From 1971 he worked in the defence industry, then from 1974 in the Ministry of Defence (Signal Directorate) – in different areas of the defence (technical-economical) administration, defence planning, defence controlling, in the National Planning Office, in the Ministry of Finance, at the State Secretariat for Defence and Security Policy of the Prime Minister’s Office and at the State Audit Office.

After obtaining his degrees in engineering and economics, and acquiring the knowledge of the Russian, German, Spanish languages, in 1994 he became the candidate of military sciences (CSc).

In addition to authoring many articles, his publication activity extends to the translation, expert and revision work of books.

Zrínyi Miklós University of National Defence acknowledged his teaching activity by donating him the title of honorary associate professor, which was confirmed by the Senate of the National University of Public Service (NUPS) in June 2012. Under his supervision five doctoral students took the graduation exam from 2007-2015, and three of them earned the PhD degree, too.

Since 1994 he is a member of the Hungarian Association of Military Science (MHTT); from 2001-2010 he was the chairman of the Section on Defence Economics, then in 2010, in 2013 and in 2016 he was elected the Chairman of the Association. In 2019 the MHTT’s college of delegates elected him the Chairman of the Association’s Ethics Committee.

Since 2004 he was a member, and from 2010-2019 the head of the editorial board of the journal Hadtudomány. From 2016-2019 he was involved in the work of the editorial committee of the journal titled Seregszemle.

He repeatedly received honours in recognition of his excellent work: a token of appreciation (dagger of honour) from the Minister of Defence (2019), Tanárky-prize (MHTT, 2011), Hadik András Sabre from the Minister of Defence (2003), 1st class of the A Honvédelemért title (1998), Silver and Gold degree of the A Haza Szolgálatáért (1983, 1989).
