Abstract

The study deals with the shock wave phenomenon, presenting its characteristic physical properties both in the case of shock waves created in the atmosphere and in space plasma. It discusses the particle acceleration ability of the shock wave formed in space plasmas, by describing in detail the conditions related to the acceleration, covering the already known facts and the questions that still need to be researched. Finally, it reviews space plasma shock wave laboratory research and its potential for practical application.
